Bathroom remodel prices in Medina, Ohio

JobTypical price
Tub-to-shower conversion: old tub or fiberglass surround out, walk-in shower with a low-profile base, wall panels or tile, and a glass panelfrom $11,000
Tiled, waterproofed shower: tiled walls and pan, built-in niche, new valve and fixtures, frameless glass$11,000–$17,000
Full bathroom: tiled shower, new vanity and top, mirrors and lighting, new floor, fixtures, paint$15,000–$25,000
Master bath with layout changes: walls or plumbing moved, double vanity, built-ins, electrical and ventilation work$35,000–$55,000
Bathroom paint only, walls and trimabout $600

Half baths and powder rooms are quoted on their own, since the range is wide: a new vanity, mirror, light and paint is a small job, and wallpaper over new wainscoting is a bigger one.

What moves the price

  • Waterproofing and tile. A tiled shower is built in layers, and the waterproofing underneath is what keeps it from leaking in five years. That is why a real tiled shower starts around $11,000 and why we will not go lower on that part of the job.
  • Tile choice. Large-format tile and simple layouts go faster than small mosaics, stacked patterns or tile that runs to the ceiling. A pebble shower floor adds a few hundred dollars.
  • Moving things. Keeping the toilet, vanity and shower where they are is the biggest money-saver. Moving plumbing or taking out a wall adds trades, time and permits.
  • Vanity and top. A stock vanity with a quartz top is one price; a custom double vanity with a granite top is another.
  • What is behind the wall. Older Medina County homes often hide water damage or rotten framing behind a tub surround. We tell you before the estimate what might be back there and how we handle it if it is.
  • Supplying your own materials. Some customers buy their own tile, vanity or fixtures. That can lower the price, and we will tell you which items make sense to supply and which are better left to us.

How long it takes

Most bathrooms take about 2–4 weeks from demo to the final walkthrough. A master bath with walls or plumbing moving can run 6–8 weeks. Your quote states the timeline for your job.

How payment works

It is spelled out on the written quote before any work starts. Larger remodels are split into a few payments tied to milestones in the work, like demo and rough-in, tile, and completion, rather than to dates. Quotes are good for 30 days.

What to decide before the estimate

  1. Keep the layout or change it? This is the single biggest cost decision.
  2. Tub or walk-in shower? Most of our customers in Medina County choose a walk-in shower unless it is the only tub in the house.
  3. Save a few inspiration photos. Houzz or Pinterest is fine. They tell us more than a description does.
  4. A rough budget. If there is a way to get the look you want for less, Don will tell you.
